Shows finder window with external HD, digikam window without.

Trying to get set up on digikam 5.7.0 on OSX 10.11.6.

Going to add my photos folder on my external drive; it's there and accessible via Mac Finder, but digikam interface does not show the external drive.

This is supported according to the documentation (collections on removeable drives) - perhaps I am missing something simple?

Thanks!
Comment 1 Scott 2017-10-06 04:07:15 UTC
I figured out how to get at this drive by entering the path //volumes/ etc etc.

But when I go back into the collections settings, this path has been moved to "Local Collections"...
Comment 2 Scott 2017-10-06 04:20:53 UTC
Hmm. Now it looks like the collection was not added correctly, and digikam freezes when I try to remove it.

This could be related to the fact that we only use the Qt file dialog in digiKam-5.7.0. In digiKam-5.8.0, it is configurable whether the file dialog from system should be used. Gilles, does your test version for OS X already contain this change?

Not yet. The 5.8.0 pkg preview installer for OSX is older than one week.

I will recompile it while this week end.

The new PKG installer about 5.8.0 pre-release for MacOS is available for testing here :

Enable in the digiKam settings the system file dialog and please try with this version to see if problem is reproducible:

I have the same problem. When do you expect to release digiKam-5.8.0 ?
Comment 9 caulier.gilles 2017-11-28 15:20:07 UTC
5.8.0 will be ready when all will be tested.

For the moment Maik work actively to close many bugzilla files. I'm currently very busy at work, so the release is a little bit delayed.

In all case, you can test with current implementation bundled in 5.8.0 pre-release PKG published here :

The 5.8.0 pre-release works fine.

Thank you for your involvement.

Thanks for the feedback, I close the bug now.
