Description Dan 2017-10-05 15:20:31 UTC
I'm using kmymoney 4.8.0 (using the development platform of KDE 4.14.35 ) in Mageia 6 ((x86_64) release 4.9.50-desktop-1.mga6, KDE plasma 5.8.7.

In plasma system-settings, the date format is dd/mm/yyyy(example 05/10/2017)
In kmymoney the format is :yyy-mm-dd (2017-10-05).
I (and some other users ) can't find a way to change this.
Thanks for all.
Daniel

Looks like you are running a KDE4 software on a KF5 system and the KF5 system stores its settings in a different location the KDE4 software looks for it. Did you install Mageia 6 from scratch or did you upgrade from a prior (KDE4 based) version?

I installed Mageia 6 from an iso file burned on a dvd, not from upgrade.

That can explain it. I guess, KF5 stores the system settings in one place whereas KDE4 looks in a different spot. Nothing found, it uses defaults.

Can you check, if Mageia6 has a package that contains KDE4 system settings and use that to change the date format?

I found a package named "default-kde4-config" but it is not installed and I don't know what will happen if i install it.
There is a folder /usr/share/kde4 which contains 4 folders : apps, env, services, servicetype.

I found also this folder in my /home/ :
/.kde4/share/apps/kmymoney/ which contains kmymoneyui.rc but nothing in it about date format.

HI
i found that :
when i click upon "Settings/KDE language settings" nothing happens after.

I still believe that this is caused by running KMyMoney 4.8 on a KF5 based environment without the KDE4 tools installed.

Given how far we are since 4.x versions, is this still relevant, or should it be closed as UNSUPPORTED?
