Created attachment 108098 [details] Screenshot of tooltip extending off-screen The tooltips shown when a link is hovered contain the full text of the url. While they are escaped, they still take up a huge amount of space, with some extending not just past the bounds of the application window, but even off-screen. This seems somewhat useless, as most long tooltips are just hashes or unimportant information.
As for the solution, it doesn't appear that Qt offers any api to manage tooltip sizes, so doing something like setting a maximum shown size isn't possible. Maybe providing a method in UiUtils::Formatting to accept a size or rect to 'fit' the returned text into. It could at least use this as a guideline and attempt to somehow "intelligently" wrap or elide the text. jkt: What do you think?
