Finally, after years of looking at ugly rendered fonts in GTK apps (Chrome) I found out that it takes something called gnome-settings-daemon or the lighter xsettingsd (which I use now) to feed GTK apps with correct fontconfig anti-aliasing and hinting configuration. It would be nice if the GTK settings dialog described/warned for this or even better that plasma would (soft) depend on xsettingsd, or that plasma could implement/duplicate lightweight xsettingsd functionality?
Mikhail, do you know if this is a duplicate of Bug 375272?
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Mikhail, do you know if this is a duplicate of Bug 375272? Well, this one is more specific about the settings that should be set in xsettingsd, but generally these bugs about the same thing.
Thanks! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 375272 ***
