Description shevegen 2017-09-08 08:51:01 UTC
Hello,

I am trying to compile the latest kdelibs-4.14.36 from source.

Things work ok during configure stage except for one thing:

"-- The following REQUIRED packages have not been found:

 * DocBookXML, DocBook XML, <http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.2>
   Required by the KDE help system to process DocBook XML"

It is possible to get DocBook XML to work but it's annoying on my slackware system.

KDE help system wants it in order to process DocBook XML - but I already do not use the KDE help system at all. So this is pointless for me. :)

If I need help, I use google, stackoverflow etc... - I never look for local documentation and stuff anymore.

So my plea is - please make docbook XML an OPTIONAL dependency; or at the least provide some specific hint how to disable it.

In the old GNU autoconfigure days, a switch switch as "--disable-docbook" or "--disable-docbookxml" could be used. I have no idea how to do anything like that via cmake; neither do I even know how to invoke the configure-options for cmake either, so I would suggest to also add the cmake switch (it is probably some all-upcased thingy there).
