Right now, Firefox and Thunderbird provide raster icons that look ugly when viewed in the Large Icons task switcher style: http://i.imgur.com/LdL7wlM.png They also don't really match the Breeze style very well; they're more photorealistic than they are flat and minimalistic. We could solve some visual inconsistencies by providing nice Breezey SVG versions of these icons. The internet is already littered with CC-licensed and public domain SVG icons for these programs that roughly match the Breeze aesthetic, so we may be able to just use some of them. Examples: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Antu_firefox.svg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mozilla_Firefox_logo_2013.svg
there were also breeze icons available for firefox and thunderbird, but they were removed cause of licence issues. so I'm sorry but breeze won't ship licenced icons.
Darn, I was worried it might be something like that. Looks like our best bet is to get the SUSE high-res icon patch upstreamed: https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1057115
