Description Tobias Kliem 2017-08-25 09:15:01 UTC
This bug is slightly weird. On my Thinkpad 13, my touchpad works fine, with tap to click enabled, two finger scrolling and two finger click as right mouse button. However, every once in a while (not always) when playing video in Chrome (eg Youtube), the special functions stop working and I can only use the touchpad normally (ie with the hardware buttons). Tap to click and multitouch are not available, and disabling and re-enabling them in the KDE settings does not help. Restarting or suspending and resuming solves the problem until it appears again.

Same problem to me.

Sometimes tap-to-click stops working. I cannot say why. I don't use Chrome.
When this happens I go in system settings, disable and re-enable "tap-to-click" but the "apply" button is disabled (grey colour).
I use a Latitude E5570.
Never experienced this problem before with other Linux distributions.
I am using KDE-Neon 5.17.

Thanks

I actually reproduced this bug.

It is quite strange but it happens when I click "apply" in "KDE partition manager" after any operation.

Scenario:
- External HD connected
- Open KDE partition manager
- Execute an operation on the HD
- Click apply to process the "KDE partition manager" operation

Result:
- Tap-to-click stops working

Hope this can help to debug it.

Thanks.

Your bug is unrelated the Chrome. It should be fixed by the commit in bug#413973

Hello! This bug report concerns the Synaptics version of the Touchpad page, which is no longer supported in Plasma 6. Can you please see if the issue still happens when using Libinput? If so, please change the status back to "REPORTED." If not, go ahead and change it to "RESOLVED FIXED", or let the bot do it automatically after a month. Thanks!
