After pinning a KDE application icon to the dock to serve as launcher, the application spawns another icon when running.

How to:
* Launch Gnome
* Find a KDE application, e.g. KMail
* Right-click > Add to Favorites
* Launch that application

Result:
See attached screenshot

Only happens with KDE applications. "Pure" Qt applications are not affected.

Is that gnome wayland or X?

Can you also check with dolphin.
I imagine they're doing .desktop name to ID mapping; which means every app moving to the newer org.kde.kmail "standard" naming.

I know dolphin will be correct.

I can confirm this bug on Arch, Gnome 3.26, both Wayland and X11 sessions.
Tested ktorrent and kdenlive.

Same bug with Dolphin.

That's the case IIUC; they have had to work around the issue for gnome apps too:

Bug persists on Arch Linux running Gnome 3.32 and frameworks 5.56.
