I'm using Arch Linux and since the update to framework 5.37.0 yesterday the suspend button the Lock/Unlock Widget Plasmoid has stopped working. The leave and other options still work ok under the widget. Suspend still works fine from the leave menu.
The hibernate button is also broken
Are you sure you only updated KF5 frameworks, and not other packages?
These are the packages that went on to stop it working. I can double check this on my other 2 arch PCs too: https://pastebin.com/eSA6puz6
How do I launch this plasmoid from the command line so I can capture any errors when the dialog popup for suspend and hibernate is being suppressed?
Got the logs off my other laptop: https://pastebin.com/pUhWbU64 The only other thing is a systemd upgrade (234.11-6 -> 234.11-8)
Well, systemd is actually the component that is responsible for the suspend operation. I suggest to ask in a forum of your distribution if the issue is known, and if not, report it to the bug tracker of your distribution.
Suspend is not the issue. It works fine from the leave menu. The issue is the widget being unable to display the popup dialog asking if you are sure you want to suspend or hibernate.
Which widget? Now reading correctly, I fail to parse your original sentence "the suspend button the Lock/Unlock Widget Plasmoid has stopped working". I do not know of a "Lock/Unlock" plasmoid, so maybe add a screenshot.
