Description nbryant 2002-02-18 23:31:42 UTC
(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***)

Package: korganizer
Version: KDE 2.9.2
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled From Sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Red Hat Linux 7.1 2.96-98)
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: kde 3.0beta2 installed in /opt/kde with red hat 7.2 kde 2.2.2 rpm's still present in /usr

KOrganizer Alarm Daemon and KAlarm all continue to load into the system tray at startup even though I've tried to disable this in their preferences.

Why is there now an alarmd *and* a KAlarm in 3.0beta2? There used to be just one.

ok i figured a way around this one but there is some user interface
inconsistency that needs to be cleaned up.

in kde 2.2.2 this preference was set through KOrganizer in
Settings|Configure KOrganizer|Automatically Start Alarm Daemon on Login.
in 3.0 this option is still in KOrganizer but it appears to do
nothing and there are other settings in the systray icons that actually
do have an effect. So the duplication needs to be removed or they need
to set the same variables...
