okularrc with recent files stuff removed

Hi,

When opening Okular, it *always* opens horizontally maximized, but with apparently half the vertical size of my main monitor, on the main monitor. This happens no matter in which state I close it, and makes opening many pdf files very annoying and cumbersome. Appended is my okularrc file with recent files data removed.

Thanks for reading,
HD

Your file, seems broken, try removing the first 4 entries? No idea how they got there

Actually better question yet, does it work if you remove your okularrc (backup it up somewhere)?

Thank you for replying!

I removed the first few "garbage" entries, but that made no difference. What did make a difference was removing the various Height= and Width= entries. Now, the okular window doesn't start maximized anymore, which is good.

Same happens when I temporarily remove the okularrc file.

It still doesn't remember its previous position and/or size, but I'm not sure whether it's supposed to? I assume that might be the job of kwin? Other programs do remember their position and size.

Either way, at least this way it's not a giant pain to use anymore, so thank you for that.

Glad it was fixed for you, at this point i don't know what to do with this bug.

Remembering the window size has worked for ages, i've used Plasma 4, Plasma 5, Unity and others and it always worked fine, unless you can think on something special on your system that would make it fail i've no idea how we would ever "fix" this bug, so i'm kind of leaning on closing it as "WorksForMe", but first want to give you the opportunity of trying to see if you can provide some extra information that would show why you're having this trouble.

Hi again,

I've tried it on another computer also running debian stable and there size and position remembering works, so I agree, you can close this bug. Sorry I took your time and thanks for the helpful answers!

I still don't know why it doesn't work on my other alledgedly identical debian stable install. Okular seems the only program not remembering its position or size, and completely purging it doesn't help. Probably some old kde config still left over from previous versions...

Anyways, thanks again.
