Wolfgang, 5.3.0 turned one year recently. Sorry to say that we lack the resources to maintain more than the latest stable version, which is 5.6.0 at the moment. If a distributor chooses to offer versions that are no longer supported upstream, it is always in the responsibility of this distributor to offer support. Sometimes it is possible to ask your distributor to backport a specific patch to the versions offered by him. You'd have to know the patch that solved this particular problem, though.
