Screenshot of the full screen on laptop with max resolution 1366x786

The window of the akonadiconsole cannot be reduced and so any buttons cannot be accessed on a computer screen with max resolution 1366x786. So nothing can be changed or configured. (The same applies to the Kmail > configure kmail window). Since the window is too high it cannot be moved upwards either.
Comment 1 Christoph Feck 2017-08-22 10:47:22 UTC
Could you please check which tab of the window lacks a scrollbar?
Comment 2 uli 2017-08-22 20:44:07 UTC
The scroll bar is not the problem - you can scroll to e.g. personal contacts, highlight it but then you don't reach the edit or whatever buttons below because they are below, not on the screen. If you have a look at the screenshot and compare that window on a screen with higher resolution you can see that the buttons are at the bottom and not visible on my screen (screenshot shows the full screen). IF the window with the scroll bar would be smaller (you can scroll through anyway) then the overall window of the akonadiconsole could be smaller so that the buttons appear on screens with smaller resolution.
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2017-09-13 00:10:57 UTC
The window has multiple tabs. If all of them had a scroll bar, then the window would never get larger than the screen. In other words, please switch to the other tab pages, and check them. At least one of the tabs lacks a scroll bar.
Comment 4 uli 2017-09-13 00:23:54 UTC
I wrote before the scroll bars are visible in the tabs. That is not the problem. The problem is that the edit/OK/save etc whatever buttons are on this window are NOT visible on the screen. The screenshot shows what I see on any of my two laptops. Can you see how I can change ore edit anything in the tabs when the buttons below the window with the tabs are not reachable? I can select something in the window with the tabs and then? Nothing - no further buttons since it is impossible to make the window smaller.

Buttons which I cannot see on my laptop

THis screenshot shows the buttons which I cannot see on my laptops since the akonadi console window cannot be made smaller.
Comment 6 Christoph Feck 2017-09-28 01:19:01 UTC
Screenshot from comment #5 still only shows the first tab ("Agents"). Please check (or add) the screenshots of the other tabs.

Other tab of akonadiconsole with Save button out of reach
Comment 8 uli 2017-09-28 04:40:36 UTC
I don't know what you want with other tabs - there are other buttons like "Save" or "Save to File" buttons which I cannot reach on my laptops which have a lower resolution screen than my desktop. Therefore I know what buttons are missing but I cannot reach them because they are below the screen. The bug listed here is that the akonadiconsole window cannot be made smaller to reach these buttons if you have a low resolution screen.
Comment 9 Laurent Montel 2017-09-28 05:56:17 UTC
We want to see which component in tab is too big.
We don't have this small resolution so we need to show problem.

So indeed screenshot of each tab can help us.

I have send a second screen shot of a second tab yesterday. You can easily set your resolution lower e.g.to resolution 1366x786 (the 786 (height) is the problem) to check how the akonadiconsole looks then, but I cannot set it higher on my laptops as the video card does not support any higher resolutions. If there is any problem let me know what other screenshot (from which tabs) you want and I will supply then.
Comment 11 Daniel Vrátil 2017-09-29 10:57:50 UTC
The Browser tab with Internals view simply has too many widgets stacked vertically that make the window to be too tall. But since this is a developer tool and no developer has the issue (we all have higher-res screens), this won't get a very high priority, sorry.

The KMail configuration dialog is another thing, that should get fixed soon.
