Description a 2017-07-30 10:16:20 UTC
OpenSUSE tumbleweed. In OS .tak files open by Audacious. But Krusader asks everytime which app use for this type of files. Other music it opens without problem.

Right click has only one option "Open". There is no option "Open with other app". So double click and "open" are the same. It opens window to choose software to open file. Any decision hasn't been remembered. It asks everytime again.

Hi!

Does it happen for example when using Dolphin?

Hello. In Nautilus associations work good. I can't see checkbox to save my choice when i choose the application to open.

I can confirm the behaviour, it's the same in Dolphin. For files without any association (unknown extension and unknown mime type) there is no "Add file association" or "remember association" setting in the "Open" dialog.

However, there is a button in the right-click "Properties" dialog. Also visible in the third screenshot.
a@kkrz.tk, have you tried this?
And the dialogs are part of KIO frameworks, not Krusader. I guess this can be closed.

This button doesn't work.

What's happening, nothing at all? Errors in console?
You have KDE installed?

And what about
>Does it happen for example when using Dolphin?
This is important. It is probably not related to Krusader.

Gnome last version.

There is no this problem in Nautilus. Problem exists only in Krusader.
Comment 7 Alex Bikadorov 2018-01-07 17:41:26 UTC
Please try Dolphin, not Nautilus.
Dolphin uses the same KDE framework under the hood.
Comment 8 Nikita Melnichenko 2018-02-18 05:58:47 UTC
@Jake, could you please try in Dolphin as Toni and Alex suggested and report back? We are trying to confirm if it's a KIO problem.
