When I type anything in a .c/.h file (single letter) Kdevelop crashes. Every single time. The crash happens in a .c/.h files, editing/saving makefiles works flawlessly. It also happens when the following plugins are *disabled*: cppcheck, class browser, code browser. Editing the very same files work fine in Kate and Kwrite. There is something about allocator in the backtrace (I don't know how to read that exactly). I have 8GB of RAM, usually less than 2GB are used. I have no ulimits, no grsecurity, no SElinux. Sorry, 99% sure this is a setup problem. A crash in the allocator of the JS engine of the text editor loading its auto-indenter script -- never seen anything like that, ever. And Gentoo setups tend to be super complex, so unless you have some evidence this is actually a bug in our application you're on your own I'm afraid :/
I reinstalled qtscript-5.7.1 with the JIT flag disabled. Kdevelop now works fine. Thanks.
Save for the highly outdated kernel version and slightly messy binutils situation I don't see anything too unusual, but then also the emerge --info is cut off right where it would be getting interesting. Anyway, qtscript[jit] is enabled by default and if it were the real reason, a lot of people would have reported that issue by now - I certainly can't reproduce it. So disabling qtscript[jit] is a workaround that hides the real problem on your setup.
