If you have a panel with its visibility set to Auto Hide, the panel will always show during the Desktop Cube switching animation, even if it's currently hidden. I have not tested this behavior with other desktop transitions, but the problem may affect them as well. To test this: Make sure the panel is set to auto-hide, also make sure you're using the desktop cube animation for switching desktops. While the panel is hidden (the mouse pointer is not placed over its screen edge), switch to another desktop... easiest way to do this is by using the mouse wheel over the desktop wallpaper (with default mouse actions). The panel will instantly appear during the transition animation, then instantly disappear after the desktop cube effect has finished. Normally the desktop transition should not cause the panel to come out of hiding, which must only happen when the mouse pointer is placed over the screen edge that the panel is on.
Can't reproduce in: Plasma: 5.12.2 Apps: 17.12.2 Frameworks: 5.43.0 Qt: 5.10.1 Kernel: 4.14.22-1-MANJARO OS: Netrunner Rolling Video: Intel 4400 xf86-video-intel 1:2.99.917+812+g75795523-1 Screen: 1600x900
I have Plasma 5.12.1 and still see it. I'll try again once openSUSE Tumbleweed also switches to 5.12.2.
@Mircea Kitsune could you please also provide additional info like - Compositor is enabled or disabled, number of virtual desktops/activities, videocard and drivers info, current system theme and maybe something else non-standard that is used - thanks
I can't reproduce either KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.0 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.83.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Graphics Platform: X11
This appears to have been fixed since, I'm no longer seeing it any more. I used to but now it's gone. Thanks for fixing.
