Description Freek de Kruijf 2017-07-27 15:18:59 UTC
Entering the command "LC_ALL=C systemsettings5" in a terminal gives the following output:
The desktop entry file "/usr/share/applications/Home.desktop" has Type= "Link" instead of "Application" or "Service"
kf5.kservice.sycoca: Invalid Service : "/usr/share/applications/Home.desktop"
The desktop entry file "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.ChromeGnomeShell.desktop" has Type= "Application" but no Exec line
kf5.kservice.sycoca: Invalid Service : "/usr/share/applications/org.gnome.ChromeGnomeShell.desktop"

It so happened that starting systemsettings caused kded to update its cache of .desktop files

2 don't follow the .desktop specification in the ways described.

They should be fixed, but niether of them are shipped by KDE

OK thanks. I will enter a bug report in openSUSE.
Comment 3 Freek de Kruijf 2017-11-07 10:46:50 UTC
Apparently things have changed, so the problem in openSUSE is gone already.
