Description Five-Stars-Corp 2017-07-17 21:09:51 UTC
When attempting to any audio CD to any format, process immediately fails after start with error "cannot find libcdparanoia". But libcdparanoia and cdparanoia are installed by default. A versioning issue? Cannot rip CDs with k3b, so a fundamental feature is not functioning in a mainstream distro, and k3b is essential KDE software and among top FOSS apps. This is why I classify this bug as critical, but I do not know know your severity definitions. I apologize if critical designation is reserved for security issues. If relevant, standard CD ripping through Dolphin is fully functional. Thank you for taking the time.

Ubuntu already ships 17.04.3?

Sorry, my mistake. It's 17.04.0.

We are talking about the k3b version, not Ubuntu version.

Hi Five-Stars-Corp,

k3b is able to rip CD https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DBw9PNoV0AA7IRw.jpg

It might be package issue? could you try it on Fedora or ArchLinux? or do you know how to compile k3b by yourself? http://www.leetcode.cn/2016/08/k3b.html#depend
