Description David Edmundson 2017-07-10 22:29:18 UTC
Fork of thread 378010.

Two users report multiple taskbars running on their system, for whatever reason.

Can those affected please dump your ~/.config/plasmashellrc and ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc files

Please do not post any other miscellaneous topics about high CPU usage here.

That config file shows 7 panels, can you confirm how many screens you have and how many panels you're meant to have where.

Also can you include the output of "kscreen-doctor -o"
Comment 4 Max Schettler 2017-07-11 02:23:18 UTC
The system runs on a laptop. When I posted the files, I used the builtin display plus an external one. When I take the computer with me, I often hook it up to external displays.
I did not manually change the panels, right now there is one on each display.

David is the provided info in comments 4 and 5 enough to assist in diagnosing this issue?
Comment 7 Nate Graham 2023-04-21 14:41:57 UTC
David, is this still relevant anymore after all the multi-monitor work done for Plasma 5.27? I haven't seen any recent reports about it.
Comment 8 Max Schettler 2023-04-21 15:43:36 UTC
Not an answer to your question, but maybe relevant: Without having tried to reproduce this issue I can't remember when I last observed it.
Comment 9 Nate Graham 2023-04-21 16:43:43 UTC
Well that's a good sign. :) Thanks for following up!
