When using digikam with a mysql database, the host port automatically resets itself to 3306 if you access the preferences dialog. I am using a Synology NAS with mariadb and for reasons unbeknownst to me, mariadb 10 listens on port 3307 (see discussion here https://forum.synology.com/enu/viewtopic.php?t=90966&start=30 ). I can set up a mysql database on my NAS fine using 3307 as the host port, but when I reenter the preferences dialog in digikam to add collections or adjust settings, it resets to 3306 with without prompting. This causes the database to refuse the connection and returns an error.
A new fresh 5.8.0 pre-release PKG installer for MacOS was just rebuild for testing and is available here : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM Please confirm if the problem remains with this version. Thanks in advance Gilles Caulier

Hello, i have tested the installer and it appears that it has resolved the problem with the port remaining set. I have not tested extensively however it may have another issue - I launched it with the database connected but without the external drive mounted and the thumbnails did not appear. In previous versions of digikam I could launch without the external drive that stores my photos mounted and as long as the thumbnail database was accessible, the thumbnails would show up.
Also thanks for resolving the port remaining set issue. I appreciate your efforts.
