Description tromzy 2017-07-01 18:21:09 UTC
On a Wayland session, Kpat hangs the whole session completely as soon as I try to click a card. I cannot close the game, nor launch Krunner or any other Plasma element or application. I cannot even switch to a TTY and I have to shutdown the computer by long pressing the power button.

Steps to reproduce :

- Launch a Plasma Wayland session
- Launch Kpat
- Launch a game (I tried Klondike and Freecell)
- Try to move a card : the whole session hangs

Plasma 5.10.3, Frameworks 5.35, Qt 5.9.1.

I'm assigning this to KWin since tbh it seems more a problem of KWin (or its stack, i.e. driver, kernel, whatever) than of KPat.
Comment 2 Martin Flöser 2017-07-02 10:39:10 UTC
Cannot reproduce in a session with Qt 5.7
Comment 3 Martin Flöser 2017-07-02 11:59:44 UTC
Also cannot reproduce in a Qt 5.9 session.

Are you still able to move the mouse?
Comment 4 tromzy 2017-07-03 09:14:00 UTC
The mouse moves very sluggishly for a few seconds and then it freezes.
Comment 5 Martin Flöser 2017-07-03 14:49:58 UTC
The question is whether KWin freezes. Can you turn on the show fps effect to see whether the compositor is still active?

If you can provide the information requested in comment #5, please add it.
Comment 7 Christoph Feck 2017-07-31 13:44:13 UTC
To further investigate this issue, KDE developers need the information requested in comment #5. If you can provide it, or need help with finding that information, please add a comment.
Comment 8 tromzy 2017-08-07 13:00:01 UTC
I am sorry for the late reply, I was on holiday and did not have my computer with me.

Anyway, I tried again and turned the "Show FPS" effect on, and I am not able to reproduce the bug : it seems to be fixed somehow. I upgraded to Plasma 5.9.4 so maybe that is what solved the bug ? If it happens again I'll let you know.
Comment 9 tromzy 2017-08-07 13:02:03 UTC
I meant Plasma 5.10.4, not 5.9.4.
Comment 10 Martin Flöser 2017-08-07 14:52:21 UTC
setting to worksforme as of latest comment.

Thanks for the update.
