Description eastapolo00 2017-06-26 23:13:17 UTC
Hello, the plasma 5 panel crashes randomly on KDE Neon 5.10.2. This happens with the nouveau and proprietary nvidia drivers. Here is my PC specs, hopefully this might help with the issue because others I have talked to do not have this issue so this may be a problem with my hardware, not sure.

Motherboard: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX 8320
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX 950

Also I would like to add that when the panel crashes it reappears like 2 seconds later and everything works fine again but it does that all the time randomly.

After the crash, a crash notification icon should appear in the system tray. Please click on that icon and provide the backtrace from the 'Developer Information' tab of the crash dialog.

Comment 2 eastapolo00 2017-06-26 23:35:51 UTC
The problem is that the crash dialog never appears, I don't see ever anywhere. The panel will simply recover and I will never get such a crash dialog to be able to report this. Is there anything else I can do that will give useful information? Maybe an attachment from /var/log/syslog ? Because I never see something like that appear.

I will try to grab a backtrace with gdb, but if there is anything I can attach please list it.
