Created attachment 106287 [details] Digikam 5.5 Map With DK 5.5 I can see all my geotagged pictures on the map. See snapshot. WIth DK 5.6 I can only see one point (seems to be a folder). I'm using DK with MySQL server.

Not reproducible here... Please try for digiKam 5.6.0 AppImage Linux bundle instead system package. Both can be used at the same time. AppImage do not install file on your system. https://www.digikam.org/download/ Gilles Caulier
I see another releted difference between the 2 versions. With DK 5.5, when the image has no geolocation in file but have it in databse, the thumbnails view shows the geolocation symbol. DK 5.6 doesn't. The right slider Filters / Geolocation filter shows the same difference. DK 5.5 shows the images with geolaction in database. DK 5.6 doesn't. I would love not to be obliged to write geolocation (as anyother metadata), especially on orignal files.
Created attachment 106319 [details] Digikam 5.6 Map on Windows @Gilles, It is what I did. I've kept 5.5 as package and got 5.6 as AppImage. That's the way I saw the difference. I've just made a try on windows, DK 5.6 shows the geotagged pictures on the map (see attachment)
Created attachment 106320 [details] Digikam 5.6 Map Linux with number I've checked that DK had the same metadata configuration on both side, Linux and Windows. On Linux the appimage shows the same issue while on windows all seem ok and fluid. Some comments for Linux: - On the attachment we see a single point, where longitude and latitude are null. - What does mean the "2E4" where we should have the number of images ? - The thumbnails view remain empty - If I try to play a little with the buttons DK freezes
On Mageia DK 5.6 shows the geotagged pictures on the map. But it is far slower than DK 5.6 under windows (30 sec against 5sec to display a bloc of 6000 images), and seems also less fluid and responsive than DK 5.5 on Ubuntu. It starts to be responsive with blocs of image below 1000.
under Ubuntu, I've update DK to 5.6, instead of using the appimage. The geotagged images do appear (with the same lack of responsiveness as under Mageia).
