The simple application launcher that you can bind to plasma rootwindow events only shows the GenericName entry in the menu (but sorts the list based on Name).

The panel applets allow to change this to using names, so one can find the proper program looking for.  Please add a similar option for the simple one. Or at least then use the GenericName for sorting the menu, so that similar programs are grouped together and not spread over the whole list.
