Description Andrew Gaydenko 2017-06-20 12:45:03 UTC
Hi! In fact a version is 5.5.2, but selection list doesn't contain this version.

After hitting Search button KMail search dialog shows another dialog saying an IMAP folder I'm searching in isn't indexed. After hitting Reindex progress bar just hangs on zero percent forever.

Up to date KDE stack is in use (Manjaro distribution).

Sorry, I wasn't exact. I mean "After hitting 'Find Messages' button", that is invoking search dialog (or just press 'S' as default shortcut).

Hi! I’m on up-to-date KDE Neon and I can confirm this bug. I tried to create a search folder looking for messages in ~10 different mail folders (from 3 different accounts), but it tells me that 2 folders are not indexed yet. After hitting "Reindex", I have the same situation as Andrew: nothing happens (at least the progress bar doesn’t indicate it).

What’s strange though, is that the corresponding folders report to be indexed – if you look into folder’s properties (rightclick on folder->Folder Properties->Service (last tab)).

And also the messages of these folders seem to appear in the search folder.

KDE Neon 5.10.4
Kontact 5.5.3

Update:
Issue is still present in 5.5.6 (KDE Neon was updated yesterday)

But now I found out, that there is something wrong with the indexing: A look into the folder’s properties tells me, that the folder contains 778 items, but only 775 are indexed. After reindexing the folder, the result is the same. So I figure there are some messages corrupt; at least they cannot be indexed...

Is there a solution for this?
