The bug is reproducible: Discover crashes each time on startup if packagekit-qt5 (and its depedency packagekit) is installed to manage packages from Arch Linux repositories. No useful backtrace could be generated unfortunately.
Hi, I'm not the bug maintainer, just another Arch Linux user experiencing crashes with Discover. In my case, Discover (discover) crashes if the Qt5 Bindings for Packagekit (packagekit-qt5) are installed, but Flatpak (flatpak) is not also installed (both are optional dependencies of Discover under Arch Linux). There's a thread about this behaviour on the Arch Linux BBS: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=226752 . I don't want to 'hijack' this bug report if the issues are not the same, so are you able to advise if you have flatpak installed or not, and if not, whether installing flatpak (as a test) then allows Discover to work please?

Hey, I did the following and installed Flatpak along with dependencies it picked automatically. That package is indeed allowing Discover to work again. However, it only does with PackageKit (including the Qt5 Bindings) installed. I hope I could somehow contribute to the development of both Arch Linux packages if it's the case. :)
