Created attachment 106007 [details] text scattered in konsole When scrolling in konsole, quite frequently happens that text suddenly scatters and becomes unreadable. This however doesn't happen only in Konsole, I have noticed it in context menus and KSysGuard as well. Screenshot of this issue in Konsole is attached. From my observation, frequency depends on how much text is displayed and how often is the content redrawn. So in Konsole it doesn't happen without scrolling. Bit in KSysGuard it does happen even without focus, because the content is reqularly updated... Forgot to mention that I'm using OpenGL 2.0 and automatic VSync.
Not a plasmashell bug. Moving.
If it's a not plasmashell bug, why is it moved to konsole/general? As I mentioned it doesn't happen only in Konsole, but in context menus (right click desktop) and KSysGuard as well. Doesn't seem Konsole specific to me.
But it doesn't happen in every KDE/Qt application? We need to find a pattern here, but from looking at the screen shot, I suspect your X11 video drivers are not working correctly. Please check if disabling compositing (Alt+Shift+F12) helps.
Well... After disabling composing everything kind of screwed up, meaning I could only work with program that was currently fucused (which happened to be notepad, so not very useful). Anyway, I'll try to provide more occurences. But I can tell for sure, I haven't experienced this in gnome applications (I installed KDE after Gnome).
After a few days running KSysGuard all the time, I haven't noticed any glitches... The same goes to other system apps, so the only app, I can frequently reproduce this is indeed the Konsole.
PS. I haven't updated any packages since posting this bug to ensure any further information gathered is still relevant.
My guess is that your video driver is confused about the ARGB visuals that Konsole uses. Which driver are you using?
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation HD Graphics 5500 (rev 09) Subsystem: Lenovo Device 5036 Kernel driver in use: i915
I was more interested about the Xorg driver. cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep -i loadmodule If 'intel' doesn't appear as unloaded module: cat /var/log/Xorg.0.log | grep intel This provides the information which driver (Modesettings vs SNA vs UXA vs) is used. Please ask in a forum of your distribution how to configure the intel graphics for different driver modes.
If you can provide the information requested in comment #10, please add it.

If you can still reproduce this bug with newer versions, please reopen. I've never seen konsole as in your screenshot, but I do not have your graphics card.
