Description Albrecht Will 2017-06-07 13:27:17 UTC
a database with objects (images) was reduced to send a demonstration for another bug. It is impossible to compress, "Failor: Unknown issue".
I put the DB in a cloud as private

Thanks Albrecht. Does Kexi crash or display error message?

I'd like to make sure it is not an Kexi AppImage version but Arch package from 3.0.1.

I've sent you file I compressed with Kexi 3.0.1. I have problems to reproduce crash.

@jaroslaw. Your files are ok. I tested again with my latest version of kexi and got the same errormessage.
The appimage seemed to be older than mine, from Mai 7. The result was also the same.

Lets wait for a newer version.

Changing status until there is a new version to test.

Upstream offers Flatpak instead of AppImage
https://community.kde.org/Kexi/Snapshots#Linux

However "Unknown error" appears in this case too.

@Albrecht, do you see any issue in Compact Database feature in your KEXI version on Arch linux? Please specify your version. If there's no problem with Arch we could make this report refer to the Flatpak version (KEXI 3.2).

Hi Jaroslaw,

your last advice relating the opening of kexi-files was helpfully. Thanks!

Using version 3.2 I firstly remarked
- the right date-format ddmmjjjj in table and queries,
- the export is working
- and many annoying crashes while using reports are patched.

Finally! And a great THANK!!!

Now I'm using the upto date Manjaro-Linux with Plasma 5.15.4; frameworks 5.57,
kernel 5.09-2 Manjaro

Please help me in case I want to change the sequence of jumping in forms from
one field to the usefull following field. Its necessary for an effectiv work.

And lastly a question where to find the Flatpak-gpg-key (http://
distribute.kde.org/flatpak-apps-testing) to bind it into the keyring. I didn't
find it.
I'd like to test 3.3

Regards
Albrecht

Hi Albrecht,

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=380936 is exclusively a topic "to compress a kexi db provides a crash". Could you answer my question on compacting - does it work for you in KEXI from Arch?

And I'd like you to ask on all other topics again via kexi@kde.org or on the Forums. Let's keep questions-and-answers organized.
Thanks.

Hi Jaroslaw,

the error message is the same like in 2017-06-07:
"Failor: Unknown issue"
Its not a crash.
(I do not know what it means to press compacting, but I tried it ;=) )

Dear Albrecht, is it KEXI 3.2 from Archlinux? (not from Flatpak and not from Appimage)
