Following situation: local files on the right side, a connected FTP server directory on the left side. If I select anything on the right side and press F5 or F6, a transfere notification popps up but no upload starts, the progress indicator just runs from left ro right and vice versa (seemls like it tries to collect inormation before transfere, but never realy starts). Strange thing: drag the same file/directory on the right side and drop it on the left using the mouse perfectly works (transfere notification popps up and progress indicator starts to show progress of the first file). Downloading something from the same FTP directory works with F5/F6 key as well als using drag and drop. This problem seems to affect only FTP, SMB does not show this behaviour.
This is very weird behaviour. I cannot replicate that. Is it the same if you swap panels (local FS on the left and FTP on the right)? Can you also test with a fresh Krusader config? Meaning: 1) close Krusader 2) rename ~/.config/krusaderrc to e.g. ~/.config/krusaderrc.bak (so you can get back to it afterwards) 3) start Krusader 4) test - is it still happening?
Same problem with swapped panels. I also tried a new Krusader configuration, but the problem still exists. Is there some log file I could check or a possibility to start Krusader from terminal with debug messages on or something?
>Is there some log file I could check or a possibility to start Krusader from terminal with debug messages on or something? No. Only the terminal output which is usually useless. (We need some debug flag for advanced output BTW) >Strange thing: drag the same file/directory on the right side and drop it on the left using the mouse perfectly works (transfere notification popps up and progress indicator starts to show progress of the first file). Difference and possible cause: DropJobs are not managed by JobMan and are not recorded for undo. Probably a bug in in KIO but I have to investigate... Anything special about the FTP connection/server? Can you try some other FTP server?
Ok, I don't know why but it works now. What I did: I tried to create a screen cast video to show you the problem. To do so I changed my system language from German to Englisch, to avoid confusion... I had to log out and in again to apply the changes, but afterwards the problem is gone. Of course I tried rebooting before without resolving the problem, but not since I've refreshed the Krusader configuration, so I don't know if it was because of the language switching or the log out after configuration reset. Furthermore I should mention that I am running on Kubuntu 16.04.02 and I added "ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports" manually to my apt-system to get an KDE update. For me it works now and I think it could have been just a strange combination of many things (especially the unusual KDE upgrade...). If you want to investigate the error anyway I'm happy to help.
More or less pointless to investigate this. Just reopen if it happens again.
