Screenshot of desktop icons

See attached screenshot. The same icons display as folders in Dolphin.

Worked with Plasma 5.9.5, broke when I upgraded to 5.10

Well, they're .desktop files which are text files. The same happens in Dolphin if you have thumbnails for text files enabled.

(Check your thumbnail settings in right click desktop → Configure Desktop → Icons → Button "Advanced preview settings")

I have text file previews enabled in Plasma 5.9.5, and the folders displayed correctly.

No, Dolphin displays the icons correctly even when text file previews are enabled.

It does here. What KIO (KDE Frameworks) and Dolphin version are you on?

This is on Arch Linux. I'll install today's updates (which include qt 5.9.0 and plasma 5.10.1) and report back.

I'm very sorry, the above wasn't accurate: text file previews were actually disabled in Dolphin. So, yes, Dolphin behaves the same way as the folder view.

Can it still be considered a bug that previewing text files renders .desktop files as text rather than showing the intended icon?
