Hello. I installed KDE Neon User Edition and login into Plasma Wayland session. Desktop works fine, windows works fine, but when I ckicked to applications menu - Plasma completely freezing. Tested on Nvidia GTX 760 with Nouveau driver (also with updated Mesa and Linux kernel).
Does it happen when you disable compositor? Are you able to switch to some tty upon freezing? Did you try to install proprietary drivers? Freezing happens with them too?
If you can provide the information requested in comment #1, please add it.

I install KDE Neon Dev Unstable, and upgrade Mesa from 17.0 to 17.2.1. Now Plasma not freezing, but has a lot of graphical bugs after login to Plasma Waylan session (see attachments)

Thanks for the update; changing status.

The question was wrong. Nevertheless it raises the question what you tested here. If you were able to disable the compositor, you were not running Wayland.
Plasma Wayland runs fine if I add nouveau.noaccel=1 in boot parameters. Tested on KDE Neon Git Unstable wit kernel 4.15 and Mesa 17.3.5
Could bug #396614 be related?
Nouvea freezing is typically driver issues. Especially if it locks up so hard you can't ssh in. We need either a backtrace of kwin, to continue
