Description Pavel Gurevich 2017-05-30 16:00:37 UTC
After a while, usually a high load, KDE/Qt apps stop getting keyboard events in a weird manner: global shortcuts still work, but regular typing and shortcuts do not. Newly started applications work. `xev` shows that windows get keyboard events but for some reason do not process them.

All GTK-based applications continue to run without any problem.

I'm experiencing this for quite a long time, during several upgrades, but couldn't find a reason. for the behavior.

Xorg log doesn't show any errors. ~/.xsession-errors is empty.

Do you have some input method helpers installed, such as IBus or Fcitx? If this also happens with Qt applications that do not use KDE components, then I doubt there is anything KDE developers can do to resolve this issue.
