I've got some long videos: little birds in their nest. Long derushing, manually writing in a text file what happen at 2'03", then 5'45" and so on. I imported this text file in my project to remind the work have been done. My whish: to be able to open text file included in project bin with default text editor (Mousepad for me with UbuntuStudio 17.04, LibreOffice Calc for .ods files, and so on). Add 'Open with..." in Right-Clic Menu, and suggest program according to MIME type defined in settings. Are settings readable in the same way for Xfce, KDE, Gnome, Unity, ... ? mimeopen -n should do the job. New Menu entry: "Open File".
Thanks for your report! This request is related to very old unmaintained version. Please update to the latest version (https://kdenlive.org/en/download/) and check if the request is still valid. It is still not possible to import text files, but the project notes (with time code support) or the subtitle feature can maybe do what you want???
