When the "Scan" button is pressed, the scanner seems to work but after the scan mechanism finish no preview is shown and the saved document is almost blank.

Thanks for the report. This looks quite a lot like a backend(driver) problem. What version of sane are you using and what scanner? Are you getting the same problem with x-sane? /Kåre
