Description Sam Viskovski 2017-05-22 11:59:46 UTC
Application: amarok (2.8.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.30
Qt Version: 4.8.6
Operating System: Linux 4.4.65-desktop-1.mga5 x86_64
Distribution: "Mageia 5"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Prior to launching amarok, Mageia 5 updates 2017/05/22 including vlc-tainted replacement installed. Afterwards neither amarok, nor vlc-tainted are loading. vlc quits with segfault; appears to have problem with sound and video plugins...amarok also reports an error regarding phonon.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

-- Backtrace:
Application: Amarok (amarok), signal: Segmentation fault
Using host libthread_db library "/lib64/libthread_db.so.1".

Since the problem happened after an update from your distribution, please address this to our distribution, we didn't change anything on our side. This is likely to be a mix up with Qt4 and Qt5 libraries.

FWIW: you will need to install debugging symbols for the backtrace to be useful, and the problem is clearly with the vlc backend, not with Amarok

I also have the same issue. It started after the most recent distribtion updates. Also affects Digikam as well as Amarok.
