Image of the freezing document

I was applying the dark blue color to my image, when the preview quit displaying anything. The brush freezes on the image, nothing disappears when I tell it to not show the layers, and I can't make changes.
I restarted everything and opened a new document. The same issues occurred, but I could click the hide button twice to make any changes appear. The same is going on with pre-existing images. I'm not sure what's going on.
There was a JPEG at the bottom of the image before, but I deleted it when the freezing started, and the layers are masked to the image at the bottom of the group.
Thank you.

I fixed it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program.
