Description bluelupo 2017-05-16 16:51:12 UTC
Dear maintainer,
Since the update on 17.04 (KDE Neon Useredition) no new IMAP accounts can be added. The existing IMAP accounts can not be configured via the "Bearbeiten" (in german) button. The Setup dialog no longer appears. The error can be reproduced at any time.

additional info: The error is identical and reproducible in several Neon installations. Two virtual systems and one installation on real hardware are affected.

This is upstream bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=379155

Hi Alex,

a question yet, in which version exactly is the error in KDE Neon then fixed?
Comment 4 Alex Sidorenko 2017-05-19 17:24:04 UTC
Hi Michael,

the upstream BZ says: "Pushed by arojas into branch 'Applications/17.04'"

This essentially means that if Neon maintainers do not care about backporthing this bugfix to 17.04.1 (should be trivial), we will get the fixed package when 17.04.2 is released. According to

https://community.kde.org/Schedules/Applications/17.04_Release_Schedule

this is expected on Thursday, June 8, 2017

Thanks for the information... waiting for the fix :)

Hey - I also came across the same issue. For adding any account, I guess the users are required to use the account wizard found under Tools menu. From there on the accounts and all settings w.r.t setting up the account works.

However, if one needs to make any change to the account, one cannot select the account to be modified and click on 'Modify' in 'Configure Kmail' menu. Dialog box to tweak the account settings does not appear when once clicks on 'Modify'. At the same time if you want to add email accounts from the 'Configure Kmail' menu item, the same cannot be done as it does not provide any option to enter any server settings.
