Context: UbuntuStudio 17.04 amd64 Kdenlive 16.12.3 melt 6.4.1 I use Kdenlive to encode .ts files from freebox to .mp4 files expurging ads. I use to have several files to encode during the night. Observed: . Add 2 or more files to be rendered, . Files are listed in Job Queue, . First file has a red bullet, and Remaing time is displayed . Next files are Waiting... . Lock screen (Ctrl-Alt-Del) . Wait a long time, enough to render all the files . Move your mouse, enter password to unlock session . You're lucky: First file is just announced to be rendered . Second file starting rendering (Same without locking screen, all the files are rendered normally) Expected: . Rendering Queue is smoothly managed from one file to next one, what ever the screen is locked or not. Question: . Are XFCE notifications locking end of rendering, and next render to begin ? Bug possibly linked with https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371478
Please try with the actual Kdenlive AppImage version 18.08.3 Run the Appimage from the terminal (press CTRL + ALT + T). Move to the AppImage folder and run the .AppImage: ./Kdenlive*.AppImage
Same problem with kdenlive-20.08.0-x86_64.appimage I disabled start and stop rendering notifications, but the problem still present (Ubuntu Studio 20.04, Xfce 4.14).
Kdenlive cannot process the output file, it stays on "waiting", I press the start task button, but it never starts, and the computer shows no symptoms of doing any work. I use the Kde Neon 5.21 system and kdenlive was installed via "Discover". I downloaded the AppImage version of Kdenlive and it does not present this problem, thanks a lot, excellent work.

@GENNDA Good idea to test with the AppImage (you can try the PPA or the Flatpak as well). If the problem doesn't occur with the AppImage then it's a packaging issue of the distributor. Please raise a ticket at the distributor if you like that this gets fixed. I close this bug. If it still appears in the latest version, please feel free to re-open it and update the affected version number.
Problem still present with kdenlive-21.08.0a-x86_64.appimage --> REOPENED.
Can you please try with the latest version and see if you can reproduce?
(In reply to farid from comment #7) > Can you please try with the latest version and see if you can reproduce? Always the same problem on my hp probook 640 G1 running Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS with Xfce 4.14 and kdenlive-22.08.0-x86_x64.AppImage. However, I'm currently switching to a dell precision 3570 running quite fresh install of same Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS with Xfce 4.14 and don't have the problem running kdenlive-22.08.0-x86_x64.AppImage !!! So I suppose now a configuration problem on y old PC...

Maybe resetting the configuration files in your old pc would help? Try doing in your terminal: rm ~/.config/kdenlive-appimagerc
