Created attachment 105568 [details] One file amarok won't play Amarok doesn't play some files in my collection (exclusively ogg files). I don't see the common point between those files. Sometimes a complete album can't be played, sometimes just a part of it. Most of those files have been successfully played before...
Please run amarok in debug mode and check the output in the konsole when you try to play the file. Running Amarok in debug mode is done by starting amarok from a konsole with amarok -d --nofork What might also be helpful is to know where those files are located, and of course to check the permissions of those files, they should be readable AND writeable for the user.
Created attachment 105578 [details] output of amarok -d --nofork while trying to play 4 files The first 3 files won't play. The fourth plays normally. All four are located in the same repertory (same album). All four have already been played.

The others work fine.
Thank you for the fast feedback. From the output it looks like Phonon doesn't want to play them, are those tracks very short? I'll reassign this to Phonon, I doubt this is actually an Amarok problem. Which Phonon backend do you use? FWIW: the question about where the tracks were located was to know if those were local or on a remote share. Some Samba shares have lags that don't cope well with short tracks

I have other longer files that Amarok doesn't play either (more than 10 minutes long). > I'll reassign this to Phonon, I doubt this is actually an > Amarok problem. I've tried the vlc backend for phonon and it works. But the problem is temporary solved because I want to switch back to gstreamer backend, that handles the gapless playback (witch is important for the opera lover I am...).
FWIW: the file plays without problems here on Amarok 2.8.0 and Amarok 2.8-git, using phonon-backend-gstreamer v4.9.0-1 on Kubuntu 17.04
Due to that problem, I switched for vlc backend but I'm not satisfied : I miss the gapless playing provided buy gstreamer backend. Still, a small part of my collection can't be played by amarok with gstreamer backend and it's annoying ! I'm making a directory with a set of problematic files : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ju5ks8xtrxb92t0/AAC2KCd-vEa1FrUEdZ9YF97ea?dl=0 I can't see any link between them (well, they were all made a few years ago... while all my recent files are correctly played). I tried to erase every tags of one of those files but it didn't solve the problem. I'm using phonon-qt4-gstreamer 4.9.0 and my system is up-to-date. Thanks in advance.
