I was so happy that I was able to type and view Tamil fonts crystal clearly in Konsole. Previously I have used gnome-terminal but it doesn't support Tamil fonts so I have switched to Konsole. But now sadly Konsole also making problems while typing in Tamil. I am able to view the Tamil text but I'm unable to type. The cursor stays in the same place even after typing multiple characters. Please check my review about the Tamil fonts support in Konsole https://welinux.blogspot.in/2016/06/simple-tamil-calculator-program-using.html Kindly check and resolve the issue.
I just tried typing in tamil on konsole 18.08.2 and it works.
Buvanesh Kumar: Can you confirm that this now works as expected with a newer version of Konsole?

Yes, the problem is still persistent even in newer release - konsole 18.08.3. Please refer the attachment for the reference.
The rendering should be fixed by 8ad28a12574cadc7a41e152ec683380d7743c2a8 which landed on v20.08.0
Rendering works well when text is printed by a program. However, severe rendering and cursor positioning problems still persist when the user is typing something at the prompt. If this behaviour is expected when using a non-monospace font, I guess this bug can be closed.

Let us know if you still have issues on recent version - most terminals require fix fonts
