I (very) frequently get "Message not found" responses. KMail fails to find a message, spends a couple of minutes trying and then gives a message in the bottom bar of the type "Failed to retrieve message from backend". I think I have an idea of the cause. Since I'm using KMail as the main message agent, I have many filters. Since I also have some messages with a completely empty body in the mailbox from which they're collected which then also appear in the folder a filter redirects them to, I suspect that both these faults are because the filtering process picks up the message before it has been completely received. No, no evidence. What would constitute useful evidence here? This error occurs several times a week for me so if there's information that would help just let me know.

I'm very pleased that it appears someone is now attending to reported bugs, but, as I said in my other report that has just been looked at, I was looking for an answer for this five years ago so, after not receiving a response for a long time, I simply stopped using KMail and therefore cannot reproduce the issue any more.
