Backtrace is not very clear. I cannot reproduce on my side. Can you check with our latest AppImage which contains latest version of MLT and vid.stab to see if problem is also present ?

I just tested with 17.08.3 Appimage on Mint 18.2, using a 1920x1080 .mov file.

Same issue occurs: once the Stablizing progress bar reaches the end, Kdenlive crashes.

How do I get the backtrace log for an Appimage, or will it matter with this issue?

Terminal output while running vid.stab from Kdenlive 17.08.3 Appimage:

VideoStab with right click on the clip (Videostab2) is deprecated. Use VidStab under the effects.

More details here: https://www.mltframework.org/plugins/FilterVideostab2/
Comment 6 emohr 2020-09-08 16:28:59 UTC
Videostab2 was removed.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.08.0 to see if there are any packaging issues https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/

If the problem/issue doesn't occur when using the AppImage, then it's your configuration or packaging.

WARNING: Version 20.08.0 has a new project type that is not backwards compatible... so you won't be able to use older versions to open new files.
