White space in message viewer on Breeze Dark Theme

When you have a dark theme (Breeze Dark / Arc Dark) you can see are white squares in the message viewer on places with no content (see screenshot). This happens with plain text and HTML e-mails.

I'm not sure but I think this happened after switching to Arc Dark theme but now it also happens with Breeze Dark.

I am also seeing this on F25. It happened after the last updates of qt5-qtwebengine to 5.8.x
You can downgrade to version qt5-qtwebengine-5.7.1-4.fc25.x86_64.rpm as a temporary fix.
I have no idea if its a qt5-qtwebengine or Kmail2 bug.

This only happens in kontact or also when you're just running KMail ?
Comment 3 sedrubal 2017-05-01 20:15:07 UTC
It happens in both cases (in kontact and as standalone app).

It's a QtWebEngine regression. QupZilla also shows similar behavior, see
e.g. the start page, where only the rectangle in the top center is light
gray, the rest comes up white for me.

Still seeing this with qt5-qtwebengine-5.9.1-1 on fc26
