I have konqueror as my default webbrowser on gentoo. for example in konsole I could right-click on a link and select open link in the menu to display the website in konqueror. since the last update to kde-apps/konqueror-16.12.3:5 this doesn't work correctly anymore: kuiserver5[5369]: kuiserver: adding job contact for address: ":1.26" objectPath: "/DataEngine/applicationjobs/JobView_1" kde-open5[7825]: kf5.kio.core: KLocalSocket(0x7640b0) Jumbo packet of 52436 bytes plasmashell[4993]: Could not find service for job "Job 1" with app name "org.kde.kioclient" plasmashell[4993]: qml: totalCountChanged 0 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8805, resource id: 75497472, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8809, resource id: 75497473, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8813, resource id: 71303172, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 kuiserver5[5369]: kuiserver: making async call of terminate for: "/DataEngine/applicationjobs/JobView_1" kuiserver5[5369]: kuiserver: removing jobview from list, it finished kfmclient[8942]: QUrl("https://www.extremetech.com/computing/248456-intel-will-rebrand-xeons-preps-gold-platinum-workstation-processors") mimetype= ndow KProcess started, pid= 9040 kfmclient[8942]: ClientApp::createNewWindow KProcess started, pid= 9040 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8825, resource id: 71303172, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8829, resource id: 75497472, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 kwin_x11[4989]: QXcbConnection: XCB error: 3 (BadWindow), sequence: 8833, resource id: 75497473, major code: 18 (ChangeProperty), minor code: 0 is what journalctl reports about that time. next I started konqueror by executing the actual program, and since I didn't close it last time around it offered to restore old tabs. but this "restoring" didn't work either. instead I got konqueror running with its home-page displayed. I close that window, and from then on activating whatever links does work correctly as it should. if I then kill all instances of konqueror by commandline, the whole story starts again from the beginning...
