Created attachment 105251 [details] Screenshot of folder icon label text issue, icon size is 32. With screen resolution 1920x1080, font dpi 144, dolphin icon size (16-112), folder icon text label is limited to 8 chars on first line and the rest of the text is placed on the 2nd line, making text labels like: "Download s" Increase icon size to 112 and the 3rd folder label (in ~) is "Downloads" on 1 line, but the 2nd folder icon label is the same as above. Increase icon size to 128 and all labels are OK. This happens on Dolphin 16.12.3 with kf 5.33 and Qt 5.71.
For example having the following folders in ~: Desktop Documents Downloading Downloads Changing the icon size in Dolphin, results in different line breaks on labels. Ex: 112 icon size: screenshot02 And increasing further to 128 example in screenshot03

Does changing "Configure Dolphin > View Modes > Text Width" make a difference?

Yes, setting Width to Large, makes all labels appear correctly as in screenshot04 attached. Icons seem too spaced apart though.
What is your suggestion to solve this issue? Personally, I force single line labels, use a small font size, and just live with the '...' ellipsis appearing on longer names.
