This example shows the Rendered mp4 file with the Camera MTS file.

I have Kdenlive 16.12.3 on Kubuntu 17.04 with KDE plasma 5.9.4 and Frameworks 5.31. The problem described below also occurred on Kubuntu 16.10 with the same version of Kdenlive.

When I load MTS camera files from the same camera, the audio timeline is delayed by about 100ms from the image of the speaker. Using the camera audio with the image there is no problem with this waveform delay.

However, I need to load an audio file from the sound desk and create an mp3 audio file which gives better quality than that recorded by the camera. The problem is that when I use the audio timeline waveform to sync with the camera waveform the sound is out of sync with the image and I have to advance it by at least 100ms.

This problem occurs randomly on MTS files. I was originally thinking that it was a problem associated with copying files, but because I could reproduce this problem I now think it is with Kdenlive.

To illustrate this problem, I rendered the Camera MTS file as a mp4 file. I then put both files into Kdenlive and they play in unison with the exception that the audio timeline waveforms are displaced.

Video 1 is the 00003C.mp4 video that was rendered by Kdenive, while Video 2 is the 00003C.MTS camera file. Note the lack of alignment of the Audio for Video 1 and 2.

I've got problem that seems to be close from yours.
My camera is a Sony Handycam HDR-CX740 making .MTS files on SD card.
Filming a whole show makes about five 2 Go files that should be placed one after the other to get the full show (about 17 min each file).
All seems to be ok for the 1st file.
But moving from 1st to 2nd file, last frames of the 1st file are identical (and sound continues). Starting 2nd file, video continues, without any missing frame.
Exporting .wav makes a file with shorter length!
Well, I'm unable to make a smoth .mp4 from those .MTS files with Kdenlive!

Please, consider downloading .MTS files to confirm the problem:
. http://dl.free.fr/rAEflg4DZ (00001-00003.MTS.tar: 3 first .MTS files, required)
. http://dl.free.fr/rXFTx8KPO3 (00004-00007.MTS.tar: 4 last .MTS files, optional)
(Hudge files, but the only way to confirm the problem due to 2Go spliting for FAT SD card).

This issue has been solved with version 20.08.

Please try with the current Kdenlive AppImage version 20.12.2 https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/20.12/linux/
