I have just done a clean install of Kubuntu 17.04 on my Dell XPS 13 with Synaptics touchpad. Everything touchpad related worked on 16.10 previously. Now changing setttings in System Settings doesn't work anymore. No changes actually take effect. I tried changing scrolling direction, reconfigured mouseclick emulation settings, disabled scrolling alltogether.... Nothing worked so far. No changes were noticed.
I can confirm this. Mouseclick emulation and scrolling direction are not changed... however, logging out and logging in again correctly configures the touchpad at least in my XPS 13.
I also have done a clean install of Kubuntu 17.04 on a 2016 Dell XPS 13 developer edition and have the same issue with the system settings not remembering my preferences.
Hello! This bug report concerns the Synaptics version of the Touchpad page, which is no longer supported in Plasma 6. Can you please see if the issue still happens when using Libinput? If so, please change the status back to "REPORTED." If not, go ahead and change it to "RESOLVED FIXED", or let the bot do it automatically after a month. Thanks!
