everything on the main screen is fine, it all presents itself in it usual manner. however, if i then get a tool and try and draw onto the canvas, there is no way in seeing where my curser is and the curser only shows if im on the border of it. it processes that ive done an action and that ive drawn onto the canvas, but nothing actually shows until i right click with my mouse. the same happens if im trying to zoom either in or out. i really need this resolving as i use krita for all of my art

Are you really on Linux, or are you on Windows? If so, you probably suffer from a broken Intel graphics driver. Oh, and please tell us the brand and model of your computer, the version of the display chip and the version of the display driver.
