When an application fires a file:// request, minecraft's open-resource-pack-folder button for example, it would be expected for this to open in the default file browser/manager/explorer (ie Dolphin). Instead the link is opened in google chrome, while chrome never even had any defaults set and should be called for anything at all! Firefox is the default web browser. Forcing a different browser for HTTP/HTTPS has no effect, as expected.
Is minecraft a KDE application? If not, could you check which other KDE applications show the same behaviour? It might be an issue outside the scope of the KDE bug tracker.

Cannot reproduce. Does this still happen in Plasma 5.18?
