Description phoenikso 2017-04-05 19:00:51 UTC
I am using to print a PDF from Google Docs for about a year or so. Recently, headings using Medieval Sharp font do not print correctly, most of the letters are printed as regular instead of bold - just a few are bold.

PDF looks OK when viewed and prints OK from Evince. I think it needs to be recent, like month or two, but I cannot correlate the problem to any update.

I can provide the problematic PDF, but I would rather not do that publicly.

Not having a public PDF to test is bad, your bug can't be tested by anyone.

Are you sure you can't create a sample pdf to show this problem?
Comment 2 phoenikso 2017-04-12 15:13:51 UTC
I will create the test PDF shortly, thanks for looking into it.

Testing PDF: http://fenikso.cz/Linux/test-okular.pdf
Photo of print: http://fenikso.cz/Linux/test-okular.jpg

I was not able to reproduce it on Canon printer (not sure about the specific type) we have at work.
I am able to reproduce it on Samsung ML-2950.

I can reproduce this by simply printing to pdf; see attached file.

This is with the current git master on today's Debian testing.

The problem goes away when using the patch from

  https://git.reviewboard.kde.org/r/130055/

which avoids the intermediate conversion to postscript in a few cases.
Comment 7 phoenikso 2017-04-12 20:54:29 UTC
Interesting, I was not able to reproduce it by printing to file when I have tried.
Comment 8 phoenikso 2017-04-12 20:57:24 UTC
However, now I can. I have probably made a mistake first time I have tried.
